Rotary Holiday Basketball Tournament Expands to 16 Teams, Welcomes Security First Bank as Title Sponsor
Chadron, Nebraska — The Chadron Rotary Club is proud to announce the expansion of its annual Holiday Basketball Tournament, now officially named the Security First Bank Holiday Classic. The event will double in size this season, growing from eight to sixteen teams and featuring eight boys’ teams and eight girls’ teams from across the region.
The tournament will be held over three action-packed days at the Chicoine Center on the Chadron State College campus, bringing together top high school athletes, loyal fans, and community supporters while delivering significant economic impact to the Chadron area.
“This expansion reflects the tremendous enthusiasm surrounding the tournament and the strong support we’ve received from our community and participating schools,” said Cali Frankovic, President of the Chadron Rotary Club. “We’re thrilled to welcome Security First Bank as our title sponsor and elevate the experience for athletes, fans, and local businesses.”
The Security First Bank Holiday Classic is more than a tournament; it’s an opportunity to bring people together and support local growth. The event draws hundreds of visitors to Chadron each year, providing a boost to area hotels, restaurants, and retailers during the holiday season. With this year’s expansion, the tournament is expected to create even greater economic activity and strengthen regional connections. This year's field will consist of boys and girls teams from Chadron, Custer, SD, Niobrara County, WY, Chase County, Gering, Gothenburg and Valentine.
“Security First Bank is proud to partner with the Chadron Rotary Club and the incredible impact the Holiday Classic has on our community,” said Jason Carnahan, Chadron Branch President. “This event unites families, student-athletes, and fans from across the region. We’re honored to be part of a tradition that celebrates youth, sportsmanship, and community pride.”
